Introducing your new Management Committee members …

We are excited to announce that three new people have joined EPAfrica’s fantastic Management Committee that are responsible for the day to day running of the charity. They are Bobby Sachdev, Beth Fiddes and Matt Purtil. Stepping down from the committee are Lucien Georgeson, Leila Jameel and Kate Summers, thank you for all of your hard work over the last two years!

Bobby Sachdev – UK Operations Manager

I joined EPAfrica as a project worker in summer 2011. Since then, I have remained involved in the charity in several roles including Logistics Officer and London President where I led the expansion to a larger number of London universities. I have also helped with marketing and promotion in order to create an overall brand image for the charity. I am excited about working as a member of the Management Committee and supporting the operation of university committees. Having graduated from medical school, I am currently working as a foundation doctor in Bedford and Cambridge.

Beth Fiddes – UK Programmes Manager
I joined EPAfrica as a project worker in 2011. Since then I have been Gender POD Lead in 2012 and, most recently, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Workstream Lead. Until very recently I was working in recruitment, but will shortly be pursuing a Masters in Development Studies with SOAS. I hope to utilise my recruitment experience in co-leading the Recruitment Task Force with Bobby this year and am excited to be taking UK M&E forward.

Matt Purtill – East African Operations Manager
After being a project working in Kisii in 2011, I have coordinated in Kakamega three times, including project managing in 2013. From the UK side, I was Oxford President during 2012/13 and Summer Operations Workstream Lead in 2013/14. I am excited to be taking up the role of East African Operations Manager on the Management Committee.
