Luke Picknett taking over from Steve Grycuk as Chairman of the Board

Steve Grycuk will be stepping down as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from April this year. Having recently relocated to the US for his new role as Director of Transformation for Dow Jones, Steve has taken this very difficult decision, after over ten years of commitment and dedication to the charity.

Having been a Project Worker in 2004, Steve has been a pivotal influence on the development and growth of our organisation, from a small charity operating in one UK university and one East African site, to the multi-university, multi-site programme that it is today. Having first been on the Steering Committee and then on the Board of Trustees, he has brought all of his experience from his professional life to bear, championing the development of a strategic vision for EPAfrica and driving enhanced professionalism, particularly related to governance and financial control.

In East Africa, Steve is somewhat of a celebrity, his name is recognised far and wide across Kisii and the relationships he has shaped have left a lasting legacy for EPAfrica. He will be sorely missed but forever remembered.

Replacing Steve as Chairman will be Luke Picknett, who is currently on the Board of Trustees as Director of Programmes (UK). Luke has had sustained involvment in the charity since he was a Project Worker in 2006. He brings a wealth of experience from his professional background in management consulting and will hope to continue the great work done by Steve and his predecessors.
