The Pre-Summer Team Role
The Pre-summer Team plays an essential role in making logistical preparations on site and welcoming our Project Workers to East Africa. As part of the pre-summer team, you will be at the heart of the logistical and organisational decisions and tasks which lay the groundwork for a successful summer project.
Members of the Pre-Summer Team have the following responsibilities:
Preparing for the arrival of our Project Workers in East Africa
This role involves buying SIM cards for the whole group, arranging secure accommodation in Nairobi and Entebbe, and organising both airport transfers and transport to each of our sites.
Preparing the Central House
Members of the Pre-summer Team will get the house ready which involves buying basic food, purchasing toiletries, and paying for electricity and water; and collate a list of taxi numbers and emergency contacts in advance of the Project Workers’ arrival.
Preparing our partner schools
The position requires you to visit each of our partner schools to check that they are ready to accommodate our project workers, organise the Head Teachers’ Conference, and make courtesy calls to our past partners.
Liaising with local friends of the charity
The Pre-summer Team will touch base with local friends updating them on our plans and changes within the charity.
