Members of the Pre-Summer Team have the following responsibilities:

Preparing for the arrival of our Project Workers in East Africa

This role involves ensuring the PWs’ first experience of East Africa is as smooth as possible. You will be responsible for organising pick-up from the airport, finding accommodation in Nairobi/Entebbe, arranging transport to Central House and helping with the logistics of getting SIM cards etc.

Preparing the Central House

Members of the Pre-summer Team will get the house ready which involves buying basic food, purchasing toiletries, and paying for electricity and water; and collate a list of taxi numbers and emergency contacts in advance of the Project Workers’ arrival.

Preparing our partner schools

The position requires you to visit each of our partner schools to check that they are ready to accommodate our project workers, organise the Head Teachers’ Conference, and make courtesy calls to our past partners.

Liaising with local friends of the charity

The Pre-summer Team will touch base with local friends updating them on our plans and changes within the charity.
